2017 Shelby County Historical Museum Ambassador Visit

An Ambassador visit was held at The Shelby County Historical Museum on April 07,2017
"The Shelby County Historical Museum was proud to host the Chamber Ambassadors visit. Primarily, we introduced our new Grants and Development Coordinator, Aaron Hicks. We created this position to focus on grants and fundraising opportunities as well as serving our members. We are excited to have him on board and I know that he is looking forward to being an active member of our community.
Additionally, we discussed additional activities that we have taking place here at the Museum. We will soon unveil our new Military Exhibit Hall, named in honor of Ruth Dinesen and Tom Merritt. This brand new, professional look will help to highlight our military artifacts and honor our county’s veterans.
We continue to digitize our collection, making it more accessible to the public and we recently installed a new stand-alone server that will help us to process our collection more efficiently. Our cataloging software, PastPerfect, is now accessible on three computers, increasing our intellectual control exponentially.
These are exciting times at the Shelby County Historical Museum and we are thankful for the community’s support. We look forward to sharing our updates with the community on Log Cabin Day, June 4 and we are available for tours Monday-Friday, 8-4. Feel free to contact us about our membership opportunities.
