Close to 50 years of history exists at the Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa with drivers the likes of Tiny Lund, Johnny Beauchamp, Bill Wrich, Bob Kosiski, Bud Burdick, Mike Chapman, Bill Kirk, Glenn Robey, Ev Hutchinson, Butch Householder, Charley Summers, Don Christensen, Lloyd Jorgensen, Larry Embrey, Randy Sterner and race car owner/mechanic Dale Swanson.

Racing every Saturday night beginning in May thru September.

Kirkman's Annual Tough Trucks and Figure 8 competition is one of the most anticipated races of the year. Held every year on Kirkman's own track just north of town, this race benefits the Kirkman Volunteer Fire Department. Food and drinks are available and the fun never stops!
